Public Policy Projects (PPP) is delighted to invite you to our virtual breakfast webinar to launch our ‘State of the Nation: Digitisation and Medical Technologies’ report on Tuesday 16th February (8:00am-9:30am).

PPP is grateful to be launching this report in partnership with NovartisCerner, Cloudgateway and Siemens Healthineers to rethink the delivery and meaning of healthcare in a technology-enabled 21st Century.

We have reached a turning point in the history of healthcare where we have an opportunity to think and act differently as we move forwards. This is particularly relevant as we take stock from the wider lessons of the past year and look forward to a future in which population health, empowered by greater technology and underpinned by more collaborative partnerships, provides new frames for looking at how healthcare is delivered in the 21st Century.

The global situation in 2020 demanded vast, mobilised action to accelerate digital ways of working. We need to galvanise this momentum in the context of rethinking technology-led healthcare. This report provides analysis concerning the current state of digital policy, performance of policy development against benchmarks, and delivery in the UK healthcare system. The digitisation of health and care covers a complex landscape; it is not only about improving health IT but will increasingly be woven into the very fabric of front-line care. The successful transformation to a digitally-enabled health and care system is only possible with the ongoing collective participation of health and care ecosystem stakeholders.

This report is a synthesis of perspectives aiming to provide a cross-industry narrative, and a set of recommendations regarding how the digitisation of health and care should proceed. This includes both strategy and policy recommendations for healthcare leaders and policymakers.
