Maximising COP 26 Series Launch: Financing a green future: Turning international finance green
Over the past four months, the World Economic Series has given us valuable insight into how governments across the globe are revising their policy priorities and handling the economic challenges posed by the COVID-19 pandemic. Throughout this virtual world tour, there has been growing international recognition that the threat of climate change and the urgency of green economic growth must underpin national economic recovery strategies.
To further the discussions we have had on this topic, we are delighted to invite you to join us for the launch of our Maximising COP 26 series, which will begin with the virtual breakfast webinar ‘Financing a green future: Turning international finance green’ (8am-9.15am, 25th November). This session marks the first of four virtual breakfasts shaping Public Policy Projects‘ first ‘State of the Globe’ report on climate policy, which will be launched at the same time as COP 26.
The session will be led by The Rt Hon The Lord Mayor of The City of London, Alderman William Russell, who will present on the outcomes and recommendations from The City’s ‘Green Horizons Summit’ taking place this week. Speaking alongside The Lord Mayor will be Sir Roger Gifford, Chair of the Green Finance Institute, Anshula Kant, Chief Financial Officer, World Bank and The Rt Hon Claire Perry O’Neill, Managing Director, Climate and Energy, World Business Council for Sustainable Development.
