For the 16th session in the World Economic Series, we are delighted to be joined by His Excellency Mr Yousef Ali Al-Khater, Ambassador of The State of Qatar to the United Kingdom, and Bodour Al-Meer, Director of Sustainability, Supreme Committee of the Qatar World Cup, as well as Heads of Mission from London’s diplomatic community.
We are delighted to have partnered with the Embassy of Qatar in London to arrange this special session to understand the preparations Qatar is making for the 2022 FIFA World Cup. The Ambassador and Bodour Al-Meer will jointly present the Qatar’s plans to redefine and reposition itself in the post COVID-19 context, including setting out how the World Cup will contribute to Qatar’s sustainability goals. As Qatar continues its economic diversification, the Ambassador and Bodour Al-Meer will also focus in particular on the growth of Qatar’s engineering and cultural sectors in light of its hosting of the 2022 World Cup. Together, they will emphasise the opportunities for international business and collaboration and will outline the emerging challenges and opportunities whilst Qatar continues to safely re-open the economy in light of its significant potential and regional connectivity.
