PPP Breakfast Series – Professor Stephen H Powis
The UK’s health and care system is undergoing significant transformation in response to a period of unprecedented service demand and pressure. To analyse service reform, and develop insights into successful system transformation, PPP has launched a series of breakfast events to convene the foremost leaders in health and care. These Chatham House events, held both in person and online, serve as a space for open and frank discussion on the challenges and opportunities of system transformation.
2023 Breakfasts
Our last breakfast of 2023 was held in May, following the Government’s review into oversight and governance of Integrated Care Systems (ICSs). Our chair, the Rt Hon Stephen Dorrell, was joined by the Rt Hon Patricia Hewitt, a former Secretary of State for Health who led the Government’s review. Key stakeholders and industry leaders came together to discuss the next steps for ICSs and hear the former Health Secretary deliver a compelling, insightful and positive vision for how integrated care can finally kickstart a shift towards preventative health and care delivery – rooted in population health.
Upcoming Breakfast
Our next breakfast meeting is on the 10th October, it will be in the Embankment area, an in conversation with Professor Stephen H Powis, National Medical Director of NHS England. Professor Powis will sit alongside PPPs Chairman and former Secretary of State for Health, The Rt. Hon. Stephen Dorrell, for an in-conversation on the NHS’s Prevention Programme. This conversation will be followed by a Q&A.
