Maximising COP
Yearly policy analysis and conference on annual COP summit.
Public Policy Projects convenes discussions on the essential steps required for the international community to hit net-zero, honour successive COP commitments and reduce carbon emissions. Shape
Launched in 2020 as the UK prepared to host COP26, our ‘Maximising COP26’ programme was attended by nearly every diplomatic Mission in London. This programme was launched by the Chief Financial Officer of the World Bank and The Lord Mayor of The City of London in November 2020 and was led by former UK Secretary of State for Energy and Climate, The Rt Hon Amber Rudd.
Whilst the battle over making climate change a ‘live’ issue for policy makers appears to be drawing to a close, a new division has emerged about what actually needs to be done and how in practice to deliver net-zero commitments. Convening the discussions, by creating the new networks that will solve these twin problems, is PPP’s mission.
We aim to provide a single meeting place and forum that merges the political, diplomatic and private sector worlds to exchange ideas, form new broader collaborations and identify the topics that have been marginalised or misrepresented despite being critical to shared net-zero ambitions.
This year: Maximising COP27 in Africa.
Pathway to COP27
Public Policy Projects together with the DIPLOMAT Magazine is developing a dedicated programme to help inform, and map, preparations for COP27 in November 2022.
‘The Path to COP27’ will highlight the essential themes necessary for industries to hit net-zero. Our events are focused around specific theme and topic that has high relevance for COP27 through the lens of different jurisdictions.

“The PPP team played an invaluable role supporting both the Presidency of Namibia and myself as High Commissioner prepare for COP26. Their work and convening power successfully enabled our country to showcase the unique investment opportunities of Namibia and ensured our President’s time in the UK for the Summit was most impactfully spent.”
H.E. Mrs Linda Scott, High Commissioner of The Republic of Namibia to the UK
