Rt Hon Stephen Dorrell

Chair

Stephen is Chair of PPP and Board Member of LaingBuisson, the healthcare market intelligence company. Stephen was Chair of the NHS Confederation between November 2015-2019. Stephen was a Member of Parliament from 1979 to 2015 and a member of the government from 1987 to 1997. He was a member of the Cabinet as Secretary of State for the National Heritage from 1994 to 1995 and Secretary of State for Health from 1995 to 1997. Between 2010 and 2014, Stephen was the first elected chair of the House of Commons Health Committee, developing the role of the Committee as an authoritative cross-party voice on health and care policy.

Mark Steel

Board Director and Senior Advisor

Mark is an experienced CEO with a background in Events and Digital Marketing. A fundamental believer in the power of live events, focussing on ROI for customers, quality over quantity and excellent customer care based on strong technology platforms.

Lee Davies

Chief Operating Officer and Director of Strategy

Lee leads the partnerships team to deliver both exciting events and editorial programmes across all the PPP areas of expertise. 

Lee has vast experience within the health and care sectors at a global level with over a decade of experience in Sales, Event and Partnership Management in collaboration with world known organisations from the healthcare, technology, and life sciences sectors.

Prior to joining PPP, Lee worked for one of the fastest growing media businesses in the world, managing the largest healthcare change event in the UK for the better part of six years.

Jenny Jenkins

Head of Marketing and Operations

Jenny heads the marketing and operations team, focusing on developing and improving communications to PPP’s partners and to public sector leaders and practitioners in the health and life sciences market.

Jenny has extensive experience in professional services marketing and communications.  She has worked in marketing and editorial roles in healthcare for the past 10 years, most recently at UK healthcare business intelligence company, LaingBuisson and prior to that at the National Pharmacy Association.

David Duffy

Head of Content

David is Head of Content at PPP, where he oversees content production and editorial strategy across PPP’s policy and publication portfolio. He is the principal Editor for Hospital Times, a print and online publication delivering news and insight to NHS and private sector acute and mental health trust directors. David also runs the wider publication portfolio of PPP including Integrated Care Journal.

David is particularly interested in driving reform and improvements across the health and care sector, focusing on healthcare estate optimisation and NHS capital strategy.

Jane Munro

Finance Manager

Jane is the Finance Director for the Dorson Group which includes PPP. She has worked with Stephen Dorrell for over nine years in both a finance and office management capacity and has seen the development and transformation of the business into what it is today.
 
The challenges she faces currently are ensuring the business can continue to honour it’s commitments to customers and suppliers and maintain the smooth running of the Finance Department.
 
Jane has a background in languages with a Combined Degree in French, German and Spanish and over the years has used her languages in various roles for European based companies.

Kate Orviss

Senior Advisor (Global Genomics)

Kate brings over 25 years’ experience at international law firms Linklaters and Pinsent Masons. When at Pinsent Masons Kate set up and led the Global Healthcare Projects Team, bringing together healthcare and life sciences specialists from across their global network. She also most recently worked on healthcare projects in a range of jurisdictions including Egypt, India, The Gambia, Uzbekistan, China and the UK. Kate’s background is in major projects in a range of sectors including transport, housing, education, healthcare and energy. She brings to PPP the benefit of her significant, global network and understanding of the commercial drivers affecting all participants in pursuing complex opportunities. Kate brings together the unique combination of a market-leading, independently recognised legal background with a strategic vision to support global discussions on key issues of the day and a desire to further change.

Elliot Bailey

Senior Event Manager

Elliot is our Senior Event Manager.

Elliot leads the PPP event portfolio, aspiring to deliver exciting and engaging events across all the PPP areas of expertise. 

Prior to joining PPP, Elliot worked in a number of roles specialising in live events and operations. Six years of diverse UK and international experience with a particular focus on exhibitions, conferences, blue-chip corporate hospitality, and large public events. Working with various clients from the private, public and third sectors, Elliot is passionate about delivering successful events that are built around customer and client satisfaction.

Ameneh Saatchi

Senior Partnerships and Policy Manager

Ameneh is a Senior Partnership and Policy Manager across Health & Life Sciences. She creates programmes and policy reports to drive improvements in the Health & Social Care System. 

For over 15 years, she has worked within the Pharmaceuticals and Medical Device industries, predominantly in Partnership and Market Access and also held a National Scientific Affairs and Market Access role.  

She is Prince2 qualified and holds a degree in Pharmaceutical Chemistry and a Masters in Health Policy from Imperial College London. She co-authored a research article on social network analysis published in the British Medical Journal and is lead author of journal article ‘Network approaches and interventions in healthcare settings: A systematic scoping review’. 

Seve Loudon

Programme Lead

Seve is a Programme Lead at PPP. His current focus is working to engage stakeholders and widen the breadth and depth of debate around genomics.

Before joining PPP, Seve worked for the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) and as a consultant within the field of development co-operation and foreign aid where he focussed on gender and social equality policy in relation to the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals. He holds a master’s degree in International Affairs and from the American University of Paris and the Université Paris 1 – Panthéon Sorbonne and a double bachelor’s degree in Political Science and International Affairs from Louisiana State University.

Carl Hodgkinson

Public Sector Engagement Manager

Carl manages all public sector and accounts for PPP, ensuring that our stakeholders have a reliable and consistent point of contact when engaging with our policy work and wider business. Carl also carries out Data Management for PPP. He has a strong history of Account Management, working for healthcare intelligence company, LaingBuisson, and sitting on the commercial team for PPP between 2018 and 2023. Carl holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology from the University of Worcester and is passionate about ensuring clients receive the best service possible, facilitating network growth and holding himself to the highest professional standards

Floriane Day

Operations Executive

Floriane is an Operations Executive at PPP, working closely and within both the Editorial and Operations teams. Since joining in September of 2022, Floriane has supported the policy and commercial teams as well as collaborated and managed events including the ICS Roadshow and PPP Breakfast Series.

Prior to PPP, Floriane read Politics, International Studies and French at the University of Warwick. She spent her Erasmus in Strasbourg, France, teaching with the British Council and has also worked in Switzerland and Spain. As well as French, Floriane speaks Spanish, Catalan and basic German, with a keen and varied interest within policy.

Mary Brown

Senior Policy Analyst

Mary is a Policy Analyst at PPP specialising in the social side of health. She is currently working on projects relating to health inequalities, the digital divide, and social care. Mary holds a Bachelor’s degree in Human Sciences from the University of Oxford, an interdisciplinary degree combining human behaviour, genetics and evolution with anthropology, sociology and demography. At university, she wrote a dissertation exploring the cultural consequences of direct-to-consumer genetics companies, and was co-president of Empower Her* Voice Oxford – a platform that spotlights the innovative vision and lived experiences of people or marginalised genders worldwide.

Willy Morris

Partnerships Manager

As a Partnerships Manager, Willy works closely with every team at PPP to ensure we are delivering maximum value for our partners. His work at PPP stretches end-to-end, from working with partners to conceptualise projects and programmes, to successfully launching final products, and everything in between.  His portfolio covers a range of healthcare and life science specialties, including cancer care, diagnostics, cell and gene therapies, and, increasingly, AI.

Prior to joining PPP, Willy held a variety of roles on political campaigns and in political consultancy, where he gained invaluable experience in project management and working in high-pressure environments under tight deadlines.

Gabriel Blaazer

Content Editor

Gabriel is a content editor and writer working across the publication portfolio at PPP. After completing his politics degree at the University of Sussex, Gabriel moved to writing and has furthered his interest in public policy, particularly health inequalities, social care and the implementation of integrated care systems. 

Prior to joining PPP, Gabriel wrote articles and technical whitepapers for the smart city and insurance technology industries at Reuters Events.  

Samantha Semmeling

Policy Analyst

As Policy Analyst, Samantha brings her recent experience working with senior stakeholders in the medical technology industry and a wide interest in the UK’s health policy landscape, particularly as it relates to clinical research, health inequality and NHS reform. Samantha holds a Bachelor’s degree in Medical Sciences from the University of Exeter, where she specialised in Neuroscience and undertook further study in neuropharmacology and neural circuity before completing her dissertation on the role of brain states in psychiatric illness. Alongside university she also worked in the NHS and social care sector, providing her with a unique experience in understanding the structures and challenges of these workforces.

Manjit Sihota

Interim Marketing Campaigns Manager

Manjit is Interim Marketing Campaigns Manager for PPP, working to ensure high quality attendees across all PPP events.  She has extensive experience in healthcare conferences and large scale events.

Dr Chris Rice

Senior Partnerships Manager

Chris completed his Master’s degree in Biotechnology and his PhD in Molecular Microbiology, and has since amassed over ten years’ experience of commercial Research & Development. Chris’s role at PPP focuses on building cross-sector partnerships in the health and life sciences sectors with a particular focus on advanced therapies, including the role of genomics in health.
