PPP Specialist Series
Cancer Care Delivery Plan 2023
Given the rising pressures on UK cancer care services and the lack of a dedicated cancer plan from the NHS, PPP is developing its own Cancer Care Delivery Plan for 2023.
Cancer Care Delivery Plan 2023
The UK is home to some of the most advanced cancer treatments and research centres of anywhere in the world. However, UK cancer outcomes have deteriorated in recent years and treatment waiting times have risen significantly while workforce and equipment shortages hamper service delivery.
Throughout this year, PPP has held a series of roundtables and expert interviews on a range of topics relating to cancer care in the UK, including technology and data to support cancer research, genetic diagnostic testing, and inequalities in diagnostics and treatment.
The PPP Cancer Care Delivery Plan, informed by these roundtables and interviews, will build on the objectives of the NHS Long Term Plan, the Life Sciences Vision and the National Genomics Strategy, and will discuss the implementation of policies that support the prevention and survival of cancer across the UK.
The plan will be launched at PPP’s Cancer Care Conference on 22 November in London.
